             Links of Interest

Listed below are a number of links to various websites regarding a wide variety of subjects.  Some of them are related to the home and some of them are related to absolutely nothing to do with the home but I thought you might find interesting.

ACTIVE RAIN is a network dedicated to Real Estate.  Whether you are a Home Inspector, Realtor, Appraiser or any other of the behind the scenes service industries, you can find it here.  Many members will have "blogs" regarding a wide variety of subjects.

INACHI is the home of the InterNational Association of Certified Home Inspectors.  There is a lot of information regarding home inspection and the housing industry located on their website.

AskNACHI is a website where you can ask questions about home inspection or even how items in your home work.  Just about any type of question will be answered by a variety of home inspectors.  Some are comical, some are serious and many will contain great information.

US Consumer Product Safety Commission The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is charged with protecting the public from unreasonable risks of serious injury or death from more than 15,000 types of consumer products under the agency's jurisdiction. Deaths, injuries and property damage from consumer product incidents cost the nation more than $800 billion annually. The CPSC is committed to protecting consumers and families from products that pose a fire, electrical, chemical, or mechanical hazard or can injure children. The CPSC's work to ensure the safety of consumer products - such as toys, cribs, power tools, cigarette lighters, and household chemicals - contributed significantly to the 30 percent decline in the rate of deaths and injuries associated with consumer products over the past 30 years.

NFPA  The National Fire Protections Association has a lot of information regarding current fire codes as well as safety education for the public.  Information can be found on safety for children, older adults and people with disabilities.
