Listed below are a number of links to various websites regarding a wide variety of subjects.  Some of them are related to the home and some of them are related to absolutely nothing to do with the home but I thought you might find interesting.

ACTIVE RAIN is a network dedicated to Real Estate.  Whether you are a Home Inspector, Realtor, Appraiser or any other of the behind the scenes service industries, you can find it here.  Many members will have "blogs" regarding a wide variety of subjects.

INACHI
is the home of the InterNational Association of Certified Home Inspectors.  There is a lot of information regarding home inspection and the housing industry located on their website.

AskNACHI

US Consumer Product Safety Commission
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is charged with protecting the public from unreasonable risks of serious injury or death from more than 15,000 types of consumer products under the agency's jurisdiction. Deaths, injuries and property damage from consumer product incidents cost the nation more than $800 billion annually. The CPSC is committed to protecting consumers and families from products that pose a fire, electrical, chemical, or mechanical hazard or can injure children. The CPSC's work to ensure the safety of consumer products - such as toys, cribs, power tools, cigarette lighters, and household chemicals - contributed significantly to the 30 percent decline in the rate of deaths and injuries associated with consumer products over the past 30 years.

Consumer Watch.
ConsumerWatch.com is a Web site dedicated to keeping the public informed about defective products, recalls and safety concerns associated with numerous products ranging from tools, cars and food to medical devices and children's toys.
ConsumerWatch.com is continually updated with recall and defective product information and closely follows updates from the Consumer Product and Safety Commission to communicate the latest news with Web site visitors.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission is an independent government agency created to protect Americans from harmful products that could result in serious injury or death. The agency creates product safety standards and guidelines for companies and manufacturers to follow when creating consumer goods. ConsumerWatch.com informs the Web site visitors when these standards are not upheld and the guidelines are compromised, to ensure the public is aware of defective products that could cause harm to Americans nationwide.

NFPA
The National Fire Protections Association has a lot of information regarding current fire codes as well as safety education for the public.  Information can be found on safety for children, older adults and people with disabilities.
